If you were President

If You Were President... What would you do to keep immigrants from entering U.S. illegally? And what would you do about the illegal immigrants already in our country?

  • I don't have any clue what I'd do. It's so complicated. But I think Bush is doing the best he can.

  • As long as the immigrants don't hurt us in any way, then I would let the ones that are already here stay. Then the immigrants who are trying to illegally entering the U.S., I would put them through a trial period to see how they handle it. If they do well, then they can stay, but if they go off and kill somebody or start selling drugs, then they are certainly staying in my country.

  • I would build a twenty foot high concrete wall all along the border, and send the ones already trespassing back!

  • I think that there is not really a way to prevent immigrants from crossing the border. If there's a will, there's a way. I agree with resas-pieces in that Bush is doing the best he can.

  • Well first I would have extra security at the border to question everyone who crosses the border, Mexicans only.Then the people that are illegal immigrants,they would have a time limit to get out of the country.b0/\/cer91 would not be making a very good decision.

  • Im not sure what i would do, im only 14. But if i had to do something i would Problably send an army after them to take the ones that cant send away out and then get rid of the rest, send them away, or even put them ion jail. Im really not sure what i'd do.

  • If I was president,I would put army guys at the entrance of America 24/7 by Mexico, and they would have to have papers stating that they have done all the requirments in order to be an illegal american. Then about the immigrants already here, I would have a bunch of Army guys go to ever town in a certain state and go over the papers the immigrants have, then if they don't have any papers contact the FBI or something! Exciting huh? Have a good summer peeps

  • On one hand of the case you have illegal immigrants that are, well, illegal and should be dealt with. But on the very painfully true side of the matter it would would have the estimated cost of 215 billion dollars over the next five years to get rid of 12 million illegal immigrants. I think what I am trying to point out is that they do the work that normal americans will not do, And we would really have to step up to the plate to do the dirty work if we wanted to get rid of them. But until we decide that we are going to do that these people are a fact of life weather we like it or not
